The Welsh Merlin Conference

We are pleased to announce the Welsh Merlin conference which will be an in-person event held on the 25th and 26th of January 2025 at Cardiff University, Wales, UK. This conference will mark the end of the Welsh Merlin Project, a major AHRC project to produce the first comprehensive edition of the Welsh poems in the voice of Merlin. The conference is thus an opportunity to discuss these poems and Merlin traditions more broadly, both in Wales and internationally.

The two keynote lectures will be given by Dr Victoria Flood (Birmingham) and Dr Juliette Wood (Cardiff).

This conference is organised by the School of Welsh, Cardiff University, the University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies, and Swansea University.
