El rey Arturo y sus caballeros: la materia de Bretaña ayer y hoy – Fifth International Colloquium of the Hispanic Branch

The Fifth International Colloquium of the Hispanic Branch will be held from 19 to 21 November 2025 at the Centro Internacional de Investigación de la Lengua Española (Cilengua) in San Millán de la Cogolla, La Rioja, Spain.

The colloquium, entitled El rey Arturo y sus caballeros: la materia de Bretaña ayer y hoy (King Arthur and His Knights: The Matter of Britain Yesterday and Today), is jointly organized by the Instituto « Literatura y Traducción » del Centro internacional de investigación de la Lengua Española (Cilengua), the Instituto Universitario de Investigación « Miguel de Cervantes » from University of Alcalá, and the Hispanic Branch of the IAS.

This international event aims to explore new scholarly perspectives on the Arthurian tradition, both in its medieval manifestations and its modern receptions, across literary, cultural, and interdisciplinary contexts. The colloquium will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and online participation.
