Presentation
The ECR Arthurian Network (ECRAN) (Arthurisches Nachwuchsnetzwerk, Réseau Arthurien des JeunesChercheurs) is an initiative supported by the International Arthurian Society aiming to highlight the work of Early Career Researchers, from Master’s students to Postdoctoral researchers. Throughout monthly events, the ECR Arthurian Network aims to promote diversity, scholarly development and training, and to help ECRs build a long-lasting supporting network within their own field and the IAS community.
The seminars organised by the Network will start in late February and will run monthly throughout the Spring. Each seminar will begin with a 30-minute workshop presented by established scholars on the development of academic skills (ECRs will be able to suggest questions and topics to address), followed by 10-mn papers, posters, or round tables by Master, PhD students or ECRs willing to present their own research, and ending with social time giving ECRs within the International Arthurian Society the opportunity to connect and discuss shared interests, thus promoting and fostering a dynamic and collaborative community.
Statement of purpose
The ECR Arthurian Network (Arthurisches Nachwuchsnetzwerk, Réseau Arthurien des Jeunes Chercheurs) aims to foster a vibrant community of emerging scholars within the International Arthurian Society. It seeks to enhance visibility and recognition by creating a dedicated platform to showcase the innovative work of PhD students and Early-Career Researchers, and will also encourage networking and collaboration, facilitating meaningful exchanges among scholars to strengthen interdisciplinary connections.
To support professional growth, the program will offer training and development opportunities through workshops and seminars on key academic skills such as scientific communication and publication. Moreover, the Arthurian EC Network aims to improve access to resources, providing easier navigation of essential databases to aid research efforts. Within this network, we also seek to emphasise inclusion and diversity by ensuring that this initiative is open to all young researchers, fostering a broad spectrum of ideas and perspectives. Together, these goals will create a supportive, enriching environment for the next generation of scholars.
