The upcoming I Seminario de Traducción Literaria de Textos Medievales: «Desafíos y Soluciones» (International Seminar on the Literary Translation of Medieval Texts: “Challenges and Solutions”) will take place at the University of Alcalá on 20–21 May 2026.
Although the seminar focuses broadly on medieval translation, Arthurian literature and its transmission across medieval Europe occupy a particularly prominent place within the programme. Several papers and round tables are devoted to the translation, adaptation and circulation of Arthurian texts between different medieval linguistic traditions, including French, Galician-Portuguese, Italian and English materials related to the Matter of Britain.
The event has been organised by Carlos Alvar, Vicente Javier López Mate together Karla Xiomara Luna Mariscal and José Ramón Trujillo, and brings together numerous members of the Hispanic Branch of the IAS.
The seminar will be held in person at the University of Alcalá until full capacity is reached.
